A serious traffic accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on February 13 on State Highway 45 in Houston, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old man.

According to police, the Maserati MC20 Cielo driven by this man suddenly lost control, skidded across multiple lanes, and then crashed into a tree by the side of the road, causing the car to split in half.

Speaking to local reporters, a police officer present at the accident scene revealed that this convertible Maserati was traveling at a speed of up to 160 km/h. Although this figure is only half the maximum speed of the Maserati MC20 Cielo (320 km/h), it is still an extremely dangerous speed in the event of an accident. After the incident, the driver was pulled out of the car and given artificial respiration. However, due to the severity of the injuries, this middle-aged man died at the scene.

Observing the scene, the rear of the MC20 Cielo suffered the most damage. The steering wheel indicated that this convertible Maserati was either newly purchased or rarely driven, as the odometer reading showed just over 2,300 km.
