The Hypermotard 698 Mono is divided into two main variants, the standard version and the RVE version, equipped with dedicated graphics and Ducati’s two-way gearbox system.
The standard version comes in Ducati Red and the option for a quickshifter, while the RVE version offers a unique choice with special graphics. Ducati Vietnam has opened a pre-order for this model, with an expected price of around 480 million VND.
The new Superquadro Mono engine has a displacement of 659cc, producing a maximum power of 77.5 horsepower at 9,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Equipped with Desmodromic valves and Titian intake valves, the Hypermotard 698 features an oval throttle body with fuel injection.
For electronics, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono features software that allows less experienced riders to ride like a Supermotard racer. The bike also offers four riding modes – Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet – and 3 engine modes.
In addition, the Hypermotard 698 Mono also has 4 levels of ABS braking. This is the first Ducati to offer this function, integrating the Slide-by-Brake function through the use of the rear brake for safe cornering and repeatable sliding. Level 4 provides full ABS intervention, while level 3 and 2 allow rear-wheel lift control and level 1 only provides ABS on the front brake.
In addition, the standard equipment also includes four levels of wheel control with levels 4, 3, and 2 to maximize acceleration when exiting corners while minimizing front-wheel lift. Level 1 is used on the racetrack and allows controlled and safe front-wheel lift.
Furthermore, the Ducati Performance software for Ducati Wheelie Control is also available as an option. This mod can only be used with the Ducati Performance Termignoni exhaust on the racetrack, providing Wheelie Assist, allowing for extended wheelies, using engine torque to control the angle.
With a limited weight of 151 kg, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with a pair of cast aluminum wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, with sizes of 120/70-17 at the front and 160/60-17 at the rear. The front suspension system uses lightweight 45 mm upside-down Marzocchi forks, fully adjustable with external adjustments and a travel of 213 mm.
At the rear, the fully adjustable Sachs monoshock provides a 240 mm suspension system. The Brembo M4.32 4-piston radial caliper at the front acts on a 330 mm disc with an aluminum bracket for weight savings, while the rear wheel has a 240 mm disc.
