As part of the IIMS 2024 exhibition, VinFast has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide 600 electric vehicles to 3 Indonesian companies. According to the agreement, VinFast will supply 600 electric vehicles to 3 Indonesian companies: PT. Energi Mandiri Bumi Pertiwi, PT. Sumber Amarta Jaya, and PT. Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk. These vehicle models will serve the companies’ expansion goals.
At the IIMS 2024 exhibition, VinFast showcased the VF5, VF e34, VF6, VF7, VF8, and VF9 models ranging from A to E segment SUVs. At this event, Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited and signed on the VF5 model displayed at VinFast’s booth.
The VF5, VF e34, VF6, and VF7, belonging to the A to C segments, are expected to be VinFast’s first electric vehicle models to be introduced to the Indonesian market in the near future. Regarding the charging infrastructure, VinFast will collaborate with local suppliers in Indonesia to develop a wide network of charging stations nationwide.
Currently, the prices of VinFast electric models in the Indonesian market have not been announced. However, VinFast commits to providing flexible sales policies and superior after-sales services to make smart electric vehicles more accessible to Indonesian customers.
Also at the IIMS 2024 exhibition, VinFast has officially signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate with its first 5 dealerships in Indonesia. VinFast’s first dealerships in Indonesia may include BAM, GNA, GSU, headquartered in Jakarta, MCA in Medan, and Majesty in Batam. It is expected that these dealerships will start selling the VF5, VF e34, VF6, and VF7 models as soon as they are launched in the country. Order acceptance time, prices, and after-sales policies will be officially announced in the first half of 2024.
According to the long-term development strategy in Indonesia, VinFast will build a production facility with a capacity of up to 50,000 electric vehicles per year. With the goal of achieving a localization rate of up to 40%, the VinFast factory project is expected to create thousands of job opportunities and promote the local electric vehicle industry.
