Recently, the wealthy businessman Hoang Kim Khanh has once again amazed many people by acquiring his second Honda Gold Wing GL1800 super motorbike for 1.23 billion VND.
Previously, around August 2023, the cosmetic industry tycoon bought an identical motorcycle and brought it to his garage. This second Honda Gold Wing GL1800 still has the same matte black paint, but it comes with some additional features.
“The king of the road” Gold Wing GL1800 measures 2,575 mm in length, 905 mm in width, and 1,555 mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 130 mm, a seat height of 745 mm, and a wheelbase of 1,695 mm. The weight of the motorcycle is only 384 kg, lighter than the previous model thanks to redesigned chassis, engine, and handlebars.
The front of the bike stands out with the LED fog lights on either side of the engine, creating a cluster of characteristic Jewel-Eye lights. The windscreen of the bike can be automatically raised or lowered by a button, and it has been refined to minimize noise and improve wind resistance by 11.8%, providing a more comfortable riding experience at high speeds.
The motorcycle is equipped with a 7-inch TFT multi-function color display that provides detailed audio information, shock absorption and driving mode control. The brightness of the screen can be automatically adjusted in 8 levels, displaying detailed information for each function to facilitate the rider’s inspection.
Honda Gold Wing is also known as the “technological wonder” as it features a range of cutting-edge technologies such as GPS navigation system with a rotating compass, independent front and rear entertainment systems, and Smart-Key keyless entry system.
The motorcycle is also equipped with other modern technologies such as Hill Start Assist (HAS) for easy hill start, temporary engine shutdown (Idling Stop), Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) for torque control, a large capacity storage compartment with damping system, 2-channel ABS supported by D-CBS brake force distribution technology. This is also the only Honda motorcycle model with an airbag for the rider’s protection in the event of a collision.
Powering the Honda Gold Wing owned by Hoang Kim Khanh is a horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1,833 cc, producing a power of 124.7 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 170 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The Gold Wing F6B version is equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The DCT transmission is accompanied by a Walking Mode that limits the speed to 1.8 km/h when going forward and 1.2 km/h when reversing.
