On February 22, 2024, officials from the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture announced some great news. The Hongguang MINI EV line has achieved impressive cumulative sales since its launch in July 2020 through February 2024.
Specifically, with over 1.2 million units sold, the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV has captured the top spot in sales for the small electric vehicle market. This is a success that many other car manufacturers most likely envy.
The success of the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV is mainly attributed to its sales in China, although several countries in Asia have also contributed to these sales results.
Looking back at the entire year of 2023, the Hongguang MINI EV had a perfect ending with sales of 237,863 units. To understand it better, the Hongguang MINIEV, positioned as a micro electric vehicle, is currently available in 25 models with prices ranging from 32,800 to 99,900 Chinese yuan.
In terms of body structure, the main product currently offered is a 3-door, 4-seat hatchback model. Additionally, there is also a 2-door, 2-seat convertible model for consumers to choose from. In terms of power, the Hongguang MINIEV currently provides a maximum power output of 20 kilowatts and 30 kilowatts for you to choose from. In terms of durability, different versions offer NEDC operating ranges of 120 km and 170 km, as well as CLTC operating ranges of 170 km, 200 km, 215 km, 280 km, and 300 km.
The Wuling Hongguang MINI EV was only recently launched in Vietnam a few months ago, and customer sentiment is still cautious. As a result, this model has been continuously stimulated with discounts, with the most generous being a cash discount of up to 50 million Vietnamese dong.
