PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), the distributor of Suzuki in Indonesia, has recently revealed to the Indonesian media that they have received 1,200 orders for the 5-door Jimny in just 3 days. The orders came not only from the visitors of the IIMS 2024 exhibition in Jakarta but also from all over Indonesia through phone calls.
Randy R. Murdoko, the Head of 4W Sales at PT SIS, stated that the buyers have reacted very positively to the 5-door Jimny.
“Most of the customers have very few doubts or hesitations when buying the car,” Randy R. Murdoko said.
Imported entirely from India at Maruti Suzuki’s factory, the 5-door Jimny is available in Indonesia with 4 variants, with the specific prices as follows:
– Suzuki Jimny 5-door MT: 462 million IDR (equivalent to 722 million VND)
– Suzuki Jimny 5-door AT: 475.6 million IDR (743 million VND)
– Suzuki Jimny 5-door MT Two-tone: 465 million IDR (726 million VND)
– Suzuki Jimny 5-door AT Two-tone: 478.6 million IDR (748 million VND)
These prices are about 4% higher than the 3-door Jimny. The main difference between the 5-door Jimny and the 3-door Jimny is the addition of 2 doors for the rear passengers. To accommodate this change, the length and wheelbase of the car have been extended to 3,965 mm and 2,590 mm respectively (increased from 3,480 mm and 2,250 mm of the 3-door model), accompanied by a trunk capacity of 211 liters.
The increased length means more space for the second-row passengers.
The 5-door Jimny still maintains its off-road capability with the AllGrip Pro 4-wheel drive system. The car is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5L engine, producing a maximum power of 103 PS and a torque of 134 Nm, combined with either a 4-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission.
In Indonesia, the 5-door Jimny is available in 6 exterior color options. For the two-tone variants, Suzuki offers 3 color options: Metallic Sizzling Red + Pearl Bluish Black, Kinetic Yellow + Pearl Bluish Black, and Metallic Chiffon Ivory + Pearl Bluish Black. Meanwhile, for the solid color variant, Suzuki also offers 3 color options: Granite Gray Metallic, Pearl Bluish Black, and Jungle Green.
In addition to Indonesia, the 5-door Jimny has previously been introduced in the Philippines and Singapore. Hopefully, the car will also be brought to the Vietnamese market in the near future.
