Recently, YangWang (a subsidiary brand of BYD) has officially introduced the U9 electric supercar. The car is sold with a unique version priced at 1.68 million NDT (equivalent to 5.8 billion VND).

YangWang U9 is developed based on the new e4 platform. The car has dimensions of 4,966 x 2,029 x 1,295 (mm) and a wheelbase length of 2,900 mm.

The YangWang U9 electric supercar is designed as a two-door coupe and comes with complex aerodynamic details. The front of the car impresses with large C-shaped LED headlights close to the nose of the car, combined with the F1-style air intakes in the front bumper.

On the other hand, the rear of the car has a large rear wing with larger aerodynamic diffuser vents.

As for the interior, YangWang U9 has a relatively minimalist cabin with: three LCD screens including two screens of the same size, both are 10.25 inches. One screen is placed in front of the driver and one in front of the passenger. The remaining screen is placed vertically in the middle as a 12.3-inch central control screen. In addition, the car also has a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated function buttons; two control levers…

The car is equipped with a software system called DiLink and is powered by a 5G chip produced on a 4nm process developed by BYD and Qualcomm.

Providing power for YangWang U9 are four electric motors, each motor has a power of 322 horsepower, bringing the total power to 1,287 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,680 Nm.

BYD said that the YangWang U9 can reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 2 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 309.19 km/h. The company also claims that the car can travel up to 476 km on a single charge according to China’s test cycle thanks to equipped with an 80 kWh LFP battery pack.

The car can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 10 minutes. This supercar also supports dual charging, meaning it can plug in two independent chargers at the same time.

In addition to its powerful engine, YangWang U9 also impresses with various special technologies that demonstrate the progress of the Chinese automotive industry. With a special suspension system, the pure electric supercar from China has the ability to “jump high”, lifting all 4 wheels off the ground and still running well even with only 3 wheels.

Specifically, the U9 uses a suspension system that YangWang calls “Disus-X”, including intelligent body control system via shock absorber (Disus-C) developed by BYD, intelligent body control system via hydraulic (Disus-P), and intelligent body control system via compressed air (Disus-A), along with control of movement in vertical, horizontal and straight directions. This feature is certainly rarely used but it is very useful in case of a problematic wheel or tire.

BYD’s sub-brand has not announced the specific delivery time, but it is expected that customers can receive the car right in this year.
