At the beginning of the Year of the Tiger, car enthusiasts in Vietnam had the opportunity to witness an interesting supercar sale between a Hanoi tycoon and two car showrooms. After much controversy, the first Ferrari 296 GTB in Vietnam was finally sold, even though its previous owner wanted to keep it because he still had a passion for it.
According to initial information, the first Ferrari 296 GTB supercar to arrive in Vietnam was jointly purchased by two showrooms in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This is one of the two relatively new Ferrari supercars being traded, the other one being the SF90 Stradale which has been on sale for 2 years without any buyers.
The first Ferrari 296 GTB supercar to arrive in Vietnam was imported from the official dealer and delivered to its owner in January 2023. After only 1 year of ownership, the Hanoi tycoon quickly sold the almost brand new Ferrari 296 GTB. Furthermore, the car still had 6 years of warranty and maintenance from the official dealer.
The mileage on the odometer of the Ferrari 296 GTB supercar being sold by the Hanoi tycoon is revealed to be just over 3,000 km, which is too low for the second owner to fully enjoy. However, the price can save the second owner a few billion VND. According to the official dealer, the base price of the Ferrari 296 GTB is 21 billion VND, exclusive of options and additional costs.
The number of Ferrari 296 supercars in Vietnam may now be over 4, with 2 main variants: the GTB, which is a coupe, and the GTS, which is a convertible. All of them are officially imported and available in eye-catching colors such as blue, gold, and red.
The first Ferrari 296 GTB supercar to arrive in Vietnam features a striking yellow exterior with black and silver details, and it belongs to the standard variant.
The interesting aspect of the Ferrari 296 GTB supercar lies in its plug-in hybrid drivetrain, which consists of a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 gasoline engine. This marks the return of the V6 engine after a 5-decade hiatus. The internal combustion engine produces a maximum power of 654 horsepower, while the electric motor provides an additional maximum power of 164 horsepower.
The maximum torque output from the hybrid drivetrain, combining the internal combustion engine and electric motor, is 425 Nm and 315 Nm, respectively. With the plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the Ferrari 296 GTB supercar boasts a total power output of 818 horsepower and a peak torque of 740 Nm.
The re-sold Ferrari 296 GTB supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h. The plug-in hybrid can travel up to 25 km in pure electric mode, with a top speed of 135 km/h.
The Ferrari 296 GTB still features the eManettino system, which offers driving modes such as eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, and Qualify. Additionally, it retains the familiar Manettino features, including standard, sport, race, CT off, and ESC off.
