Zeekr is a new premium electric car brand owned by the parent company Geely, created to compete with Tesla. The company was launched in 2021 with the Zeekr 001 as its first model.
After being on the market for a while, Zeekr has now officially introduced a new version of the 001 with many breakthrough improvements. In this upgrade, the exterior of the car remains the same as the previous version, with only a few details improved to be more suitable.
Zeekr 001 has dimensions of 4,977 – 1,999 – 1,545 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 3,005 mm.
The front of the car features a sportier and more aggressive bumper, along with a new LiDAR sensor on the roof and a redesigned rear spoiler. The Chinese automaker has also added a new Olive Green exterior color for the 001 model.
In terms of the interior, the cabin of the car has also been improved with a refreshed steering wheel and instrument cluster similar to the high-performance Zeekr 001 FR model.
The large 15.6-inch entertainment screen can now rotate left and right, and the augmented reality display has been increased to 35.5 inches with a Snapdragon 8295 processor designed for cars. The seats have also been enhanced with a massage function to provide users with more relaxation and comfort.
Instead of the 8-speaker sound system found in the previous version, the 2024 Zeekr 001 now comes with 28 Yamaha speakers with a power of 3000 W, allowing users to enjoy a better music experience.
In addition to the panoramic sunroof with unique color-changing design, the new Zeekr 001 is also equipped with power-adjustable doors and a dual-chamber air suspension system with continuous damping control (CDC).
Starting from the second quarter, the Zeekr 001 will be updated with an advanced autonomous driving system that supports the NZP city positioning system, AVP parking assist, and the LCC system. This system will be provided for free to customers who place Zeekr 001 orders before March 31.
Providing power for the new Zeekr 001 is an electric motor with a rear power output of 416 horsepower, borrowed from the Zeekr 001 FR. The 4WD variant also has an additional front motor with a power output of 362 horsepower. The new Zeekr 001 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
The Zeekr 001 is offered with two battery options. The first is an LFP battery with a capacity of 95 kWh, providing a range of up to 675 km.
The second is an NMC battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, providing a range of 705 – 750 km (depending on the drivetrain).
The new Zeekr 001 uses an 800V platform, which enables it to support V2V charging with a maximum power of 60 kW. This means the Zeekr 001 can charge another EV using the power of an average DC charging station.
With the LFP battery, the Zeekr 001 can charge from 10 to 80% in just 11.5 minutes thanks to the 5C system. Meanwhile, with the NMC battery pack, the car only needs to charge from 10 to 80% in 15 minutes thanks to the 4C system. According to Zeekr, the car can drive 256 km after just 5 minutes of charging.
Currently, the Zeekr 001 2024 is being distributed in China with 4 variants, ranging in price from 269,000 to 329,000 CNY (equivalent to 920 million to 1.125 billion VND).
