Recently, TradeArabia – a finance specialist in the Middle East – has released information that VinFast is preparing to expand its operations and distribute cars in the Oman market.
VinFast is believed to have signed a sales agreement with Bahwan Automotive Trading (BAT) to distribute electric cars in Oman. Specifically, the terms of the agreement state that BAT will become VinFast’s official distributor in Oman.
Between 2024 and 2027, BAT plans to establish and operate 13 VinFast stores and service centers. The first store is expected to open in mid-2024 and start selling cars shortly after.
Initially, VinFast will cooperate with BAT to sell 4 electric car models: VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9. These cars are expected to be imported directly from Vietnam to Oman as Oman is a country with right-hand drive vehicles.
Oman is one of the countries with great potential for car consumption in the Middle East. In addition, the country also pays great attention to sustainable and environmentally-friendly transportation solutions.
The government of Oman has implemented many initiatives to encourage the use of electric vehicles to address climate change, reduce carbon emissions, and limit fossil fuel consumption.
Furthermore, when selling cars in Oman, VinFast can take advantage of the existing charging stations that cover over 90 locations on main roads.
