Information about a traffic collision between a Tesla Cybertruck and a large Dodge Ram pickup truck has been posted on Reddit, causing a stir in the online community in recent days.

Since its first appearance as a concept vehicle, Tesla Cybertruck has sparked controversy in the automotive world due to its “mobile coffin-like” design. Specifically, this electric pickup truck features a sharp and rugged design with a fully stainless steel body. This has raised concerns about safety for both the occupants and other vehicles in the event of a collision.

Recently, a collision between a Cybertruck and a Dodge Ram has demonstrated the superior durability of Tesla’s electric pickup truck. According to information posted on Reddit, the owner of the Tesla Cybertruck stated that the two pickup trucks had a significant collision. After the impact, the entire front end of the Ram, including the hood, bumper, headlights, and grille, were severely deformed and dented. In contrast, the Cybertruck only suffered minor scratches on the rear bumper.

The Cybertruck owner scheduled a maintenance appointment for the vehicle after the accident using Tesla’s dedicated app. However, the Tesla app notified that the vehicle’s software system did not detect any significant damage resulting from the collision.

The owner further stated that both they and their passengers in the Cybertruck were unharmed and hardly felt the impact force when the collision occurred. This could prove that CEO Elon Musk was correct in stating that Tesla has a special design to dissipate impact forces. However, it should be noted that this was still a relatively minor collision. In more severe accident scenarios, things may unfold differently.

It is known that the cause of the collision was the negligence of the Ram driver, who was distracted while using a mobile phone while driving.

In the comment section of this article, many people believe that a Tesla Cybertruck being so rigid is not necessarily a good thing. Typically, the impact absorption zones on a car are steel frame structures installed at the front and rear of the vehicle. They are designed to be “softer” than other areas, allowing them to be deformed and bent to minimize the impact force inside the cabin in the event of an accident.

However, with the Tesla Cybertruck, no one can predict whether the impact absorption zones have been developed correctly or not when the vehicle’s body is made of overly sturdy material. In a severe collision, it is highly possible that the vehicle’s body does not deform or deform significantly, which can result in the impact force being transferred directly to the cabin and the occupants inside.
