Introducing the Lexus NX 2024: Upgraded chassis and new Overtrail edition

The upgraded version of the luxury SUV NX has recently been announced by Lexus in Japan. The 2024 Lexus NX has been improved in terms of equipment and driving experience. However, the most notable upgrade is the off-road variant called Overtrail. In Japan, the 2024 Lexus NX starts at 5,120,000 yen (~840 million VND), while the NX450+ Overtrail starts at 7,725,000 yen (~1.27 billion VND).

The Lexus NX Overtrail is not as impressive as the GX, but it is equipped with some useful features for off-road enthusiasts. This variant uses new 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires to enhance off-road capability, combined with a 15mm increased ground clearance. In addition, the Lexus NX Overtrail also has a dedicated off-road driving mode for the adaptive suspension system to reduce vibrations transmitted to the cabin.

In terms of design, the Lexus NX Overtrail features black accents on certain exterior details such as wheels, grille, window trim, door handles, mirror caps, and roof rails, contrasting with the new Moon Desert yellow paint option. Inside, the interior of the car is dressed in the exclusive Monolith black and dark green color scheme, with wood veneer accents on the doors.

For the standard Lexus NX 2024, the Japanese brand’s engineers have adjusted the NX’s suspension system to improve driving comfort and convenience. Additionally, Lexus has increased the body’s rigidity by adding additional bracing. All-wheel drive versions feature an improved Trail Drive mode. Finally, all versions have improved cabin noise reduction capabilities.

The 2024 Lexus NX does not have any updates in terms of exterior design, except for the new Sonic Copper paint color and the new Hazel interior option.

In terms of equipment, the 14-inch infotainment touchscreen of the NX450h+ is now standard on the NX250 and NX350h variants, replacing the old 9.8-inch screen. All versions feature rear door puddle lights, two USB-C ports on the center console, and a VIN plate on the windshield. The NX350 and NX350h F Sport variants now have full LED adaptive headlights. Additionally, there is an optional panoramic sunroof.

As for the powertrain, the Lexus NX Overtrail offers three options for the standard version, including NX350 (2.4L I-4 275 hp/430Nm), NX350h (2.4L I-4 188 hp/243Nm + front motor 180 hp/270Nm + rear motor 54 hp/121Nm), and NX450h+ (same as 350h but with a 2.5L I-4 engine producing 182 hp/228Nm).

Meanwhile, the standard Lexus NX 2024 usually has three different drivetrain options: NX200 (2.0L 170 hp/206Nm), NX250/260 (2.5L 202 hp/249Nm), and NX400h+ (similar to 450h+).
