In 2023, THACO KIA was selected by KIA Corporation as a partner to train the manufacturing process and provide production supervision for the trial production of Kia Sonet for ADM – Uzbekistan Company. After 4 training sessions on production processes and actual assembly lines at THACO KIA plant for over 200 personnel including managers and technical staff from ADM, on February 15th, THACO KIA sent personnel to work at ADM – Uzbekistan Company to directly supervise the production process.
During this supervision period, THACO KIA plant will monitor and supervise the body component welding process, quality of weld points, measurement of vehicle body accuracy; sealing adhesive process, final body painting; assembly process of separate components; evaluation of finished assembly of the prototype vehicle to meet the technical requirements and quality standards of KIA Corporation globally. At the same time, THACO KIA engineers also shared technical error handling methods after each process, actively supported the technical team of managers, engineers, and technical staff of ADM to complete the project on schedule.
Prior to that, on February 7th, 2024, THACO AUTO also organized a meeting with the personnel from THACO KIA plant participating in the production supervision at ADM – Uzbekistan Company. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Doan Dat Ninh – Deputy General Director of THACO AUTO in charge of Production Department, shared his experience in working abroad, cultural integration, and expressed his expectation for the personnel to raise their responsibility, adhere to THACO’s code of conduct, promote intelligence and capability to fulfill their tasks, and contribute to building the image and brand of THACO.
The participation of THACO KIA plant in supervising the production of Kia vehicles for partners has affirmed the capability, level, and skills of the engineering team and technical staff of THACO KIA in particular, and THACO AUTO Corporation in general. Through learning and accumulating source technology, the THACO KIA engineering team has mastered the production process, quality inspection, thereby actively contributing to the technology transfer activities of KIA Corporation.
