Mitsubishi Thailand officially introduces the Xpander HEV. The vehicle has many upgrades in terms of equipment. In this new line, the Xpander HEV sold in Thailand is locally produced instead of being imported from Indonesia as before.
The Xpander HEV is equipped with a 1.6L gasoline engine (95 horsepower, 134 Nm) combined with an electric motor (116 horsepower, 255 Nm). Below the car floor is the 1.1 kWh battery pack that supports pure electric operation at low speeds. Mitsubishi Thailand claims that the car consumes 5.2 l/100 km. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 9.7 seconds.
Compared to the current Xpander model, the Xpander HEV still retains its familiar design but is supplemented with several blue accents and the HEV logo on the exterior to demonstrate its environmental friendliness.
Other notable improvements in the Xpander HEV’s performance include a new suspension system, rear disc brakes, 7 driving modes, AYC cornering assist system, etc.
Inside the cabin, the Xpander HEV switches to an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and the steering wheel is also redesigned. Notably, the gearbox in this MPV model has been changed to electronic type.
Mitsubishi Thailand is offering the Xpander HEV with prices starting from 912,000 baht, equivalent to $25,665. The Xpander Cross HEV variant has a starting price of 946,000 baht, equivalent to $26,662. The regular Mitsubishi Xpander is still sold alongside in Thailand with prices starting from 799,000 baht, equivalent to $22,474.
