Sales in the Vietnamese automotive market grew significantly in March 2024 compared to the previous month, according to sales reports from VAMA and TC GROUP. As a result, the rankings of the top 10 best-selling vehicles in the market also saw some changes.
A notable highlight of the top 10 best-selling vehicles in March was the strong performance of Mitsubishi’s SUV models, along with the return of the Toyota Vios to the sales race. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Grand i10 quietly exited the list.
Specifically, after losing the sales crown to the Ford Ranger in February, the Mitsubishi Xpander regained the top spot in March with impressive sales of 1,582 units, a significant increase of 941 units compared to the previous month.
The second position belongs to the Ford Ranger with 1,539 units sold in March, an increase of 659 units compared to February 2024.
Following the success of its Xpander sibling, the Xforce also achieved impressive sales with 1,334 units sold, securing the third position in the overall market. Although it was only launched in the Vietnamese market in January 2024, and the first units were delivered to customers in early March, the Xforce immediately made a strong impression, entering the top 10 best-selling vehicles in the market.
Furthermore, March 2024 was probably a rare month that witnessed the presence of three B-segment sedans, including the Honda City (ranked fourth), Hyundai Accent (ranked fifth), and Toyota Vios (ranked sixth) in the top 10 best-selling vehicles. After being out of the race for a month, the Toyota Vios has returned to the list of best-selling vehicles with 934 units delivered to customers in March, an increase of 5.5 times compared to February 2024, when sales reached only 170 units.
The remaining positions in the top 10 best-selling vehicles in March in the Vietnamese market belong to the Mazda CX-5 (ranked seventh with sales of 912 units), Ford Everest (ranked eighth with sales of 899 units), Honda HR-V (ranked ninth with sales of 759 units) and the tenth position belongs to the Kia Sonet with sales of 751 units.
Experts predict that the Vietnamese automotive market will continue to grow in April as manufacturers race to implement attractive promotions and discounts. However, the rankings of the top 10 best-selling vehicles are also expected to fluctuate.
