In terms of design, the EV5 is regarded as a scaled-down version of the EV9, adopting the Korean automaker’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. Standout exterior design cues include the closed-off grille, pop-out door handles and the signature ‘Star Map’ lamp array at the front.
Aero-optimized wheels and J-shaped, horizontal LED taillights also form part of the SUV’s striking exterior design, along with the gloss-black body cladding.

In Thailand, the Kia EV5 is offered with two powertrains. The entry-level powertrain consists of a single electric motor powering the front wheels, producing 215 PS and 310 Nm of torque. With this setup, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 185 km/h. This powertrain is offered in the Lite, Air and Earth Long Range variants.
The range-topping Earth Exclusive AWD variant gets a dual-motor setup that produces a combined 308 PS and 480 Nm of torque, reducing the 0-100 km/h sprint time to 6.1 seconds, but retaining the same 185 km/h top speed.
As for the battery, the Lite and Air variants get a 64.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows the car to travel up to 490 km on a single charge, based on the NEDC standard. The Earth variants get a larger 88.1 kWh battery, enabling a longer range of 665 km for the Long Range variant, or 620 km for the Exclusive AWD variant. Both battery packs can be charged from 10-80% in 36 minutes using a DC fast charger.
