Hyundai Creta Mid-Life Update Garners 100,000 Bookings in India
The Hyundai Creta mid-life update was launched in the Indian market in January this year. In less than three months, the vehicle has crossed a significant milestone of 100,000 bookings in the country.
According to Hyundai, 71% of Creta buyers have opted for variants equipped with a sunroof. Meanwhile, 52% of customers have chosen variants with connected car features. This indicates that the mid- and top-spec variants of the 2024 Hyundai Creta are witnessing higher demand in the Indian market.
In India, the Hyundai B-segment SUV is available in both regular and N Line variants, the latter featuring a sportier design. Notably, Hyundai has also confirmed plans to introduce a fully electric version of the Creta later this year.
Details about the Hyundai Creta EV are still scarce. However, it is expected to be based on the current internal combustion engine-powered version sold in the market. As a result, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Hyundai Creta EV shares similar styling and features with its regular counterpart.
With its diverse range of offerings, the Hyundai Creta is expected to continue its strong performance in the Indian market. During the fiscal year 2023, the vehicle averaged sales of around 13,000 units per month. Since its launch in 2015, the Hyundai Creta has累计售出over 1 million units in India.
As reported earlier, the 2024 Hyundai Creta in India features a different design and equipment list compared to the model sold in Vietnam. The India-spec model gets a large rectangular grille and central air intake, a split headlamp setup with L-shaped LED daytime running lights on top and vertically stacked headlamps below, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design and dual-tone finish. It also has L-shaped taillights and a more rugged-looking front and rear bumper with silver accents.

Other amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control with new air vents and touchscreen controls, power-adjustable driver’s seat, air purifier, electronic parking brake, Bose sound system, two-step adjustable rear seat recline, and rear seat amenities like headrests, sunshades, and USB Type-C ports.

Under the hood, the 2024 Hyundai Creta in India is powered by a choice of three engines. The other two engine options in the 2024 Hyundai Creta remain unchanged. There’s a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine with 115 horsepower and a diesel engine with the same displacement and power output as its gasoline counterpart. These engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox.
