A year after Porsche unveiled the third-generation Cayenne, the German carmaker has now introduced the new-generation GTS variant, which brings a host of changes, including a more powerful twin-turbo V8 engine, more responsive suspension, and a slew of additional features. However, this version still falls short of the Turbo GT variant in terms of outright performance, as it prioritizes everyday usability and driver engagement.
The highlight of the 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS is its upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which now churns out a maximum of 493 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque — an increase of 40 horsepower and 40 Nm over its predecessor. The mill is paired with an all-wheel-drive system and an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox.
The bump in power translates into a slight improvement in performance, as the Porsche Cayenne GTS can now accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 km/h.
The standard dual-chamber air suspension with adaptive dampers has been specifically tuned for the GTS, lowering the ride height by 10 mm compared to regular variants. Handling is further enhanced by the use of the wheel bearings employed on the Turbo GT.
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport, an active anti-roll stabilization system, is optional, but the vehicle comes standard with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus.
The Cayenne GTS inherits the design of the third-generation, but it has been subtly modified to set it apart. The front end features a bumper with large air intakes akin to the Turbo GT variant, which incorporates daytime running lights within. The sides bear the GTS lettering painted in black, while the rear sports a similar GTS badge. The exhaust system is finished in dark copper to accentuate the vehicle. Customers can also opt for the Sport package, which adds more black-painted details.
Furthermore, the German automaker has fitted the 2025 Cayenne GTS with 21-inch RS Spyder Design alloy wheels in a dark gray finish, paired with red brake calipers to enhance its aesthetics. The rear spoiler can automatically extend or retract depending on the vehicle’s operating conditions. Additionally, customers can choose from one of three Lightweight Sport Packages, which reduce the vehicle’s weight by up to 25 kilograms.
The interior of the sporty SUV combines Race-Tex material on the seats with premium leather, complemented by red stitching. Standard features such as the curved display instrument cluster, the new infotainment screen, and the optional passenger-side display are similar to those found in other variants. The Cayenne GTS 2025 also boasts a Bose surround sound system.
The Porsche Cayenne GTS 2025 is expected to arrive at dealerships in the United States in the third quarter of this year, with a starting price of $124,900, while the GTS Coupe version will start at $129,500.
In Vietnam, the GTS version of the second-generation Cayenne was not very popular due to its high price, with the Coupe variant already priced at 8.2 billion VND.
