A batch of the Toyota Corolla Cross 2024 recently arrived at the Hai Phong port in Vietnam, as shown in the images circulating on various online groups for Corolla Cross users in the country. The photos depict a substantial number of new vehicles in various colors.
The Corolla Cross 2024 that has been brought to Vietnam retains the same alloy wheels as the current version sold domestically, a detail that has disappointed many enthusiasts. Facebook user Vu Quang Dong commented, “The wheels are still the same as the 2023 model, not like the new ones in Thailand,” while another user, Nguyen Quoc Toan, remarked, “The old wheels make it a bit boring.”
Around three weeks ago, numerous Toyota dealerships across Vietnam announced that customers could start placing deposits for the Corolla Cross 2024, with an anticipated sales launch around May. The vehicle will be available in two variants, the V and the Hybrid, with estimated prices of 860 million and 955 million VND, respectively—prices that remain unchanged from the current Corolla Cross.

The Toyota Corolla Cross 2024 debuted in Thailand in early February. It features several notable exterior changes, including a redesigned front grille, Crystalized headlamp clusters, new taillights, and an HEV emblem at the rear for the hybrid variant. Inside the cabin, the new Corolla Cross now incorporates an electronic parking brake with automatic hold functionality, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof for the top-spec version.
The powertrain options for the mid-cycle enhanced Corolla Cross remain unchanged, with a 1.8L gasoline engine (140 horsepower, 177 Nm) and a hybrid system that combines a 1.8L gasoline engine (98 horsepower, 142 Nm) with an electric motor (72 horsepower, 163 Nm). The vehicle utilizes a front-wheel-drive system and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

In February, the Corolla Cross sales performance was lackluster, with only 106 units delivered to customers, including seven hybrid variants. For the first two months of the year combined, Toyota Vietnam sold 277 units of the Corolla Cross.
Apart from the overall market slowdown, the scandal involving Daihatsu models has made customers more cautious about “low-cost” Toyota vehicles, while the supply of other imported Toyota models remains limited. The arrival of the new Corolla Cross and the promise of a more stable supply should provide a glimmer of hope for Toyota Vietnam during the early part of this year.
