Close look at the new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe in China, awaiting arrival in Vietnam

The All-New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, a D-Segment SUV, has officially graced the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. The vehicle makes a bold statement with its rugged, boxy exterior design and a cabin that exudes luxury and comfort.

The new-generation Hyundai Santa Fe undergoes a design transformation, with a boxy exterior replacing the rounded shape of the previous model. This style, which has been compared to the Land Rover Defender, is intended by the manufacturer to provide users with a more practical SUV.

The most striking feature of the new Santa Fe is its “H”-shaped LED “eyes”, accompanied by squared-off air intakes and grille. A horizontal LED strip running between the headlights is added to the grille.

The specific dimensions of this model are a length of 4,830 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,720 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Santa Fe is 45 mm longer, 20 mm higher, and has a 50 mm longer wheelbase. The body is more muscular with its flared wheel arches and sharp body lines.

The rear of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has generated the most controversy, with many individuals criticizing it as overly simplistic and incongruous with the car’s boxy design. The LED taillights feature an “H” shape similar to the headlights, but the rear bumper lacks air vents and is completely flat.

Following the trend of many current vehicle models, the new Santa Fe also “simplifies” its interior layout. The horizontal air vents are discreetly positioned along the dashboard, creating a spacious cabin. Physical buttons have been reduced, with many functions integrated into the central 6.6-inch touchscreen display. The gear selector has been moved from the center console to the steering column, freeing up space for two wireless phone charging pads.

The center armrest can even be opened from the passenger seat in the second row. The storage compartment on the passenger side of the front seats has been enhanced with a UV-C ultraviolet light function for disinfecting items. Other notable amenities in this midsize crossover include a 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual sunroof, digital rearview mirror, Hyundai SmartSense safety technology suite, and more.

Safety features on the new Santa Fe include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Driver Monitoring System, Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, Smart Speed Limit Assist, Rear View Monitor, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Front/Rear Parking Distance Warning, Surround View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Safe Exit Assist.

In South Korea and North America, the all-new Santa Fe will be available with two powertrain options. The 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5T GDI – 8DCT) delivers a maximum output of 281 horsepower. The 1.6-liter Turbocharged Hybrid gasoline engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV – 6AT) delivers a maximum output of 180 horsepower.

In Europe, the 2024 Santa Fe will be available with two powertrain options, including the 1.6L Turbocharged Hybrid (Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV – 6AT) or the 1.6L Plug-in Hybrid (Gamma III 1.6T GDI PHEV – 6AT) with a maximum output of 160 PS.

In other regions, the all-new Santa Fe will also be equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5 GDI – 8AT) producing a maximum output of 194 PS.
