The McLaren 765LT is a limited-edition supercar that has had a rather turbulent fate in Vietnam. Currently, two units are up for sale in search of new owners. The origin of one unit is unknown, while the other was previously announced for liquidation by a bank and another was involved in a minor collision with a motorcycle.
The McLaren 765LT featured in this article was previously owned by a wealthy individual from Kien Giang, residing in Phu Quoc. The owner also possesses several other expensive vehicles, such as a Brabus G800 and a modified Lamborghini Urus S from TopCar. The car is currently being offered for sale at a price of approximately 25 billion VND, with 2,000 kilometers on the odometer. According to Autodaily’s research, the purchase price of the car when new was 35 billion VND after completing the registration process.
Currently, private import companies have brought four McLaren 765LT Coupes (hardtop) into Vietnam, one of which has an unknown owner, while the remaining three belong to well-known car enthusiasts. The official dealership has also sold one 765LT Spider (convertible) to a wealthy individual in Saigon, who owns a collection of supercars worth tens of billions of VND.
Similar to the first unit that arrived in Vietnam and is currently for sale, this 765LT has a striking orange exterior, known as Venue Orange. It is the 381st unit, signifying that it is the 381st 765LT produced by the British automaker out of a total of 765 units worldwide.
Due to infrequent use, the car’s exterior is still in pristine condition. Compared to other units in Vietnam, this car has relatively few optional features. Several parts are simply painted black, rather than being made of carbon fiber, such as the front splitter, side skirts, front air intake surrounds, rear air vent surrounds, side mirror housings, and rear diffuser. The only carbon fiber element is the front wheel arch splitter.
The car rides on sporty black multi-spoke alloy wheels measuring 19 inches. This type of wheel is also used on the three other 765LT Coupes in Vietnam. The interior is highlighted by orange brake calipers, creating a cohesive aesthetic for the vehicle.
After acquiring this supercar, the wealthy individual from Phu Quoc upgraded the exhaust system with components from Novitec, a renowned German tuning company. The new system utilizes Inconel, a material with superior heat resistance compared to the stainless steel used in the original exhaust. This material is also lighter, resulting in a noticeable reduction in the car’s weight. The upgrade is priced at around 11,155 euros (approximately 285 million VND) on the international market.
The interior of this McLaren 765LT is predominantly black leather, accented by orange stitching and seatbelts. The seats are of a sporty design, featuring electric adjustment instead of the racing-style seats found in track-focused cars. The steering wheel is wrapped in grippy carbon fiber, further enhancing the cabin’s sporty ambiance.
Powering the McLaren 765LT is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, delivering a maximum power output of 755 horsepower and peak torque of 799 Nm. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. As a result, the supercar can effortlessly accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 330 km/h.
