At the end of last year, a supercar mechanic in Ho Chi Minh City shared news about bringing the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible to Vietnam. Now, after half a year, he has finally provided an update on the fate of what could be the first and only Ferrari 812 GTS in the country.
In his update, he stated, “It’s not only beautiful but also unique, as expected”, implying that the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible has arrived in Vietnam and may have cleared customs. Many are now curious to know if the car has found an owner and what its license plate number will be.
Just days after completing the customs procedures for the one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge Sportive, this importer has now revealed that they have done the same for the Ferrari 812 GTS. While there are no official images of this supercar convertible in Vietnam yet, the news has already created a buzz in the automotive community.
It is unclear how the Ferrari 812 GTS will be sold in Vietnam, but we do know that in Thailand, wealthy individuals have to spend 34.7 million Baht, or approximately 26 billion VND, to own this supercar convertible through official channels. At its launch, the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible was priced at over $450,000, or about 10.5 billion VND. However, currently, used cars have seen a price increase of $100,000 to $250,000, depending on their condition and options.
The arrival of the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible in Vietnam can be considered a blessing from the Italian carmaker to its local customers. Previous high-end models such as the Ferrari 599 GTB and Ferrari F12 Berlinetta did not have convertible versions. The Ferrari 812 GTS is the convertible variant of the Ferrari 812 Superfast, two of which are already in Vietnam, with one recently purchased by “Qua” Vu.
The most significant difference between these two models is that the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible has a retractable hardtop that can be easily raised or lowered according to the owner’s preference. This electric roof can be operated in just 14 seconds, even while the car is in motion, as long as the speed is below 45 km/h.
The 812 GTS is currently the most powerful V12 Ferrari convertible that can be easily purchased. It is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, delivering a maximum output of 789 horsepower and 718 Nm of torque.
This supercar convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 8.3 seconds, eventually hitting a top speed of 340 km/h. These figures match those of the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
