10 worst-selling cars in Vietnam for April 2024 (units: vehicles)
The Suzuki Ciaz maintained its position as the least popular car in Vietnam for April 2024. Similar to the previous month, this Japanese-made B-segment sedan sold only one unit. From the beginning of the year until now, the Suzuki Ciaz has only managed a cumulative sales figure of five units – a very modest result.
The second worst-selling car in the Vietnamese market for April was the Honda Accord, with a meager sales figure of just five units. Compared to the previous month, sales of this D-segment sedan decreased by 54.5%. The cumulative sales of the Honda Accord in the first four months of this year stand at only 36 vehicles.
Closely following the Honda Accord is the Toyota Alphard, with a sales figure of seven units. However, this is not surprising as the Toyota Alphard is not a mass-market model. This luxury MPV, dubbed the “private jet on land,” currently has a price range of VND 4.37 – 4.475 billion for its two versions.
A surprising entrant in the top 10 worst-selling cars for April 2024 is the Toyota Corolla Cross. In April 2024, the Toyota Corolla Cross sold only 14 units, a decrease of 82.5%. However, the low sales of this B-segment SUV are not due to a lack of demand but rather the depletion of old model stocks at dealerships as they await the launch of the new version.
The Kia K5 occupies the fifth position in the top 10. This is the third consecutive month that this South Korean car has made it to the list of worst-selling cars in the market. Kia K5’s sales for April stood at 17 units, a 29.1% decrease compared to the previous month.
April 2024 also saw the Isuzu mu-X feature in the top 10 worst-selling cars. This D-segment SUV managed to sell only 20 units during the month. However, compared to March 2024, the Isuzu mu-X’s sales increased by 100%.
Ranking seventh in the top 10 is the Suzuki Swift, with a sales figure of 23 units, a 28.1% decrease. In March 2024, this B-segment hatchback was also one of the least popular cars in Vietnam.
The eighth position goes to the Kia Soluto, with a sales figure of just 24 units. Compared to March 2024, sales of this B-segment car decreased by 25%.
Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport ranks ninth due to its sales of only 25 units. Sales of this D-segment SUV decreased by 37.5% compared to March 2024.
The remaining model in the top 10 worst-selling cars in the Vietnamese market for April 2024 is the Isuzu D-Max. This pickup truck achieved a sales figure of 30 units in the past month, a decrease of 36.1%.
Thus, the top 10 worst-selling cars in the market for April 2024 saw some changes, with the Honda Civic Type R, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Toyota Corolla Altis exiting the rankings. Taking their places are the Toyota Corolla Cross, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and Isuzu D-Max.
Honda Accord: 40 Years of Automotive Excellence
Looking at the Vietnamese car market right now and humorously comparing it, we will see Camry as a well-behaved young girl, not outstanding in every aspect but easily becoming the choice of the “other half”. Teana, on the other hand, is like a dignified and tranquil woman, full of courage. Meanwhile, Mazda6 is like a hot girl, quickly attracting and captivating anyone’s gaze from the first encounter. As for Accord – with the elegance and experiences of a U30 lady, even though she is always praised by everyone, she hides something “difficult to deal with” in the minds of the majority.
