Quick Review of Geely Icon Butterfly 2024: Compact SUV with a Price Tag Half of Hyundai Creta in Vietnam

The Geely Icon Butterfly is offered in three variants, with prices ranging from CNY 96,900 to CNY 116,900 (USD 13,400–16,100), which is approximately VND 315 million to VND 380 million. This represents a reduction of CNY 13,000 (USD 1,800), or around VND 42 million, compared to the 2023 models.

Exterior Design

As a facelift model, the Geely Icon Butterfly 2024 primarily receives updates in terms of body color and configuration. Its exterior design builds upon the previous model, now featuring two new colors: FA Gray and Cai Pink, in addition to the existing Diamond Gray, Fu White, and Sapphire Blue.

The entire Geely Icon Butterfly 2024 range comes standard with a two-tone body and hidden door handles, a unique feature for a gasoline-powered vehicle.

Positioned as a compact SUV, the Geely Icon Butterfly has dimensions of 4,350/1,815/1,620 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. In terms of suspension, the new model employs MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear.

The Geely Icon Butterfly 2024 boasts an impressive exterior, highlighted by its thin, horizontal LED daytime running lights that seamlessly connect to a black bar.

Lower down, the compact SUV features a square grille with a robust silver insert and a bar that divides it into two parts. The LED headlights are vertically oriented and consist of three bulbs, including integrated turn signals.

On the sides, the vehicle sports black side skirts with prominent character lines. At the rear, you’ll find LED taillights, a black plastic bumper, and two silver accents protruding from the bumper.

Interior

The cockpit of the Geely Icon Butterfly 2024 retains the style of its predecessor, featuring a D-shaped steering wheel, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch central control screen. It also integrates the Geely Galaxy OS cabin system, supporting multi-screen interaction, OTA updates, remote control via a mobile app, and AI voice assistant.

In terms of intelligent safety, the Geely Icon Butterfly 2024 is equipped with an L2 intelligent driving assistance system, a 540° panoramic photography system with an under-vehicle perspective function, a high-resolution 360° four-way driving recorder, and a range of other configurations, including automatic parking with brake control, remote parking assistance, reverse tracking + narrow road exploration, and blind-spot detection (BSD).

The 1.7㎡ panoramic sunroof allows for ample natural light and fresh air. The electric trunk, available in the high-end version, features a curtain that can be used to conceal items or as a projector screen.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a Face Connect system that enables keyless ignition through facial recognition. In-car WiFi, Huawei Hicar, and electronically adjustable leather seats are also standard features.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Geely Icon Butterfly 2024 is powered by a 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers a maximum output of 181 horsepower (133kW) and a peak torque of 290 Nm.

The engine is paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, enabling the compact SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The official fuel consumption, as per the WLTC standard, is 6.3 liters/100 km.
