A-Segment Sales Table for May 2024 (units: vehicles)

Hyundai Grand i10: 319 units sold

Riding on the wave of the overall market growth, the Hyundai Grand i10 outperformed its sales from April 2024. Specifically, 319 units were sold, marking a 39.3% increase. With these impressive results, the Hyundai Grand i10 has reclaimed its top spot in the A-segment, surpassing the Toyota Wigo.

Interestingly, the Hyundai Grand i10 continues to dominate the segment even after the announcement of the new model’s launch in April 2024. The updated version of this A-segment car was officially introduced in mid-June 2024, offering six variants with unchanged prices ranging from VND 360 million to VND 455 million.

Hyundai Grand i10 2024

Throughout June 2024, the Hyundai Grand i10 will continue to offer official promotional programs. Customers can choose between two incentive packages. Package 1 offers an attractive interest rate of 0% for 12 months on installment payments. Alternatively, Package 2 provides financial support of up to 50% on registration fees. Additionally, the company is offering one year of physical damage insurance for customers who purchase the Grand i10 during this month.

The upgraded Hyundai Grand i10 retains the same two body styles as its predecessor: sedan and hatchback. The exterior design has been subtly enhanced, including revisions to the grille, front bumper, LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels, and taillights.

Under the hood, the Hyundai Grand i10 2024 remains unchanged. It is powered by the familiar 1.2L Kappa MPI gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Wigo: 200 units sold

In May 2024, Toyota sold 200 units of the Wigo in Vietnam, representing a 25% decrease in sales. This decline caused the Toyota Wigo to slip to the second position in the segment, behind the Hyundai Grand i10.

Toyota Wigo

The Toyota Wigo is currently offered in two variants in Vietnam, with prices ranging from VND 360 million to VND 405 million. It boasts notable features such as LED headlights, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, 14-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a four-speaker audio setup. Additionally, it includes rare safety features in this segment, such as the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) systems.

The Toyota Wigo is powered by a new 1.2L gasoline engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission (D-CVT). This engine produces a maximum output of 87 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque.

Kia Morning: 74 units sold

Similar to the Hyundai Grand i10, the Kia Morning also experienced a successful month in terms of sales. With 74 units sold, it achieved a growth rate of 15.6% compared to April 2024. However, the Kia Morning’s sales figures remain modest, placing it at the bottom of the segment.

Kia Morning

The Kia Morning is available in five variants in Vietnam, with prices ranging from VND 349 million to VND 424 million. While it is more affordable than its competitors, its equipment is relatively sparse, featuring halogen headlights and lacking cruise control.

Other features of the Kia Morning include LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors with turn signals, 14- to 15-inch wheels, an analog instrument cluster with a multi-information display, leather seats, an 8-inch central screen, a four- to six-speaker audio system, and automatic climate control.

Under the hood, the Kia Morning is equipped with a 1.25L Kappa gasoline engine that generates a maximum output of 83 horsepower and 120 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.
