The Mercedes-AMG GT is a high-performance sports car line from Mercedes-Benz, and it’s intriguing to note that Dang Le Nguyen Vu has been collecting various variants, from the standard and GTS Edition 1 to the supercar-like GTR and GTR Pro. The only missing piece in his collection is the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster.
Interestingly, there is only one officially imported Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster in Vietnam. After spending a considerable amount of time in a showroom in Danang, this unique sports car has found its way to a pre-owned car garage in Ho Chi Minh City, where it is now up for sale for 7.3 billion VND.
According to the seller, this Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster has clocked over 17,000 kilometers and has recently undergone an authorized inspection. The car has had a few previous owners, including a collection by a 30-something real estate entrepreneur. Last year, the car was offered for sale at 7.5 billion VND when it had only covered over 9,000 kilometers.
The one-of-a-kind Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster in Vietnam boasts a Diamond White exterior with black accents and, most notably, a red soft top. The soft top of the Roadster is a three-layer construction made from a combination of magnesium, steel, and aluminum to reduce weight. As a result, the Roadster weighs in at 1,595 kilograms, compared to the GTC Roadster’s heftier 1,660 kilograms.
With just the push of a button, the soft top can be lowered in a swift 12 seconds and raised in 14 seconds. The top can be operated while the car is in motion, but the speed must be below 45 kilometers per hour to ensure smooth and perfect functionality.
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster exudes both luxury and sportiness, featuring AMG sports seats upholstered in Nappa leather with light-colored carbon fiber trim, red stripes, and red seat belts.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that generates an impressive 476 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. This potent engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 301 kilometers per hour.
The Roadster is also equipped with an adaptive air control system. Motorized flaps located behind the front grille can be opened and closed to regulate cooling and airflow as needed. The AMG Panamericana grille with its 15 chrome-plated vertical bars pays homage to the brand’s racing heritage and is a distinctive design element of the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster.
