Earlier this March, a car broker in Ho Chi Minh City posted photos of two supercars, the Ferrari 360 Spider and the Ferrari 599 GTB, being transported on a tow truck to a villa in Thu Duc City, where Dang Le Nguyen Vu resides. This sparked interest from many people. However, quite surprisingly, after a while, this Ferrari pair was transported back to the seller’s garage, with the revealed reason being paperwork issues.
It wasn’t until recently that another ‘pilot’ of ‘Qua’ Vu also boasted of having completed the paperwork for this Ferrari 360 Spider, before handing it over to the villa of the Chairman of Trung Nguyen, with the businessman’s driver receiving it. The car is also said to have completed all the procedures for transferring the ownership to the corporation and has been given a brand new license plate.
Thus, after a round of moving and transferring from one ‘pilot’ to another to complete the paperwork, the Ferrari 360 Spider convertible has officially joined ‘Qua’ Vu’s thousand-billion-dong team of supercars. This is also the second Ferrari 360 Spider that the businessman owns. The original car was red, but it may be wrapped in silver, white, or black.
In September this year, the Gumball 3000 event will take place, and it is likely that one of the two Ferrari 360 Spiders will be present, completing the team of 15 Ferraris of Trung Nguyen with the most diverse versions possible, alongside three super products: Bugatti Veyron, Ford GT, and Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition. ‘Qua’ Vu’s ‘Prancing Horse’ team is estimated to have nearly 40 cars.
The Ferrari 360 Spider was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2000 and quickly captivated global players with its beautiful and captivating design. Ferrari equipped the 360 Spider with a soft top that can be opened or closed in less than 20 seconds, all at the push of a button.
Moreover, Ferrari reinforced the door sills, stiffened the front of the floor pan, and redesigned the windshield frame. The rear bulkhead had to be stiffened to eliminate engine noise from the cabin. Passenger safety is ensured by a robust windshield frame and roll bars. Thanks to its entire structure made of lightweight aluminum, the Ferrari 360 Spider is only 60 kg heavier than the coupe version.
The Ferrari 360 Spider is powered by a 3.6-liter V8 engine, the same as the Ferrari 360 Modena. This engine in the convertible version produces a maximum power of 395 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 373 Nm at 4,750 rpm.
The engine in the Ferrari 360 Spider is paired with a 6-speed F1 transmission, allowing the Ferrari 360 Modena convertible to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 288 km/h.
