There has been much anticipation surrounding the upcoming launch of the new Suzuki XL7 Hybrid in Vietnam, with dealers already taking deposits for this compact MPV.
While the official launch date for the Vietnamese market has not yet been announced, dealership sales consultants suggest that deliveries will begin in July or August of this year, indicating an imminent introduction.

The pricing of the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid in Vietnam remains a mystery, but it is likely to see an increase compared to the previous version, following the same formula applied to the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid. The XL7 Hybrid will continue to be imported from Indonesia.
The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid was first introduced in the Indonesian market in June 2023, and the biggest change is, of course, its engine.
It features a mild hybrid system called Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS), similar to the one used in the Ertiga. This system combines a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an integrated starter generator (ISG) and a lithium-ion 10Ah 12V battery. As a result, the vehicle delivers a maximum output of 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. Additionally, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid offers a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, similar to the conventional gasoline version.

In addition to the new powertrain, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid also receives subtle exterior updates, including a chrome trim below the rear windshield and a new “Hybrid” logo on the tailgate. The high-end model will feature a two-tone exterior paint option of ivory white and black or white and black. Furthermore, this MPV gains new exterior equipment, such as automatic headlights with light sensors, a navigation wait feature, and power-folding side mirrors.

For the Indonesian market, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid sports a black-painted grille and 16-inch alloy wheels, while the Thai and Philippine versions retain the conventional grille and wheel design.

As previously reported, Suzuki will discontinue the Ertiga Hybrid in Vietnam, making the XL7 Hybrid the brand’s flagship model in the country.
