Piaggio Vietnam has expanded its offerings in the country with the introduction of the Piaggio Beverly scooter. With the addition of the Beverly, Piaggio now offers a diverse range of products in Vietnam, beyond just the under-175 cc scooter segment.
Within the large scooter segment of under 400 cc, the Piaggio Beverly goes head-to-head with the Honda SH 350i. So, how does this new entrant, the Beverly, stack up against the well-known SH 350i?
Similar Design Styles
Both the Beverly and the SH 350i embody the style of a metropolitan scooter with a European flair. The SH 350i clearly draws its design from its smaller siblings, the SH 125i and 150i, while the Beverly takes inspiration from the Medley model. Up front, the Piaggio Beverly stands out with its large windshield, whereas the SH 350i captivates with sharp angles and eye-catching headlights. Being in the premium segment, both scooters are equipped with LED lighting and smart key technology.

From the side profile, the Beverly appears longer than the SH 350i, despite the latter having a 5 mm longer wheelbase. This perception is created by the Beverly’s separate mudguard design, which visually elongates the scooter. The Beverly boasts a 1,550 mm wheelbase, 10 mm longer than the SH 350i. While this difference is not significant, it does subtly impact the visual appeal of the scooters. The longer wheelbase of the Beverly also suggests improved high-speed stability, at the slight expense of maneuverability in tight urban environments.
The SH 350i offers a more comfortable riding position thanks to its flat floorboard design, whereas the Beverly’s floorboard is compromised by the placement of the fuel tank. However, this trade-off results in a more spacious under-seat storage compartment in the Beverly, capable of accommodating two 3/4 helmets, according to Piaggio.
