The McLaren 720S Spider is an exclusive supercar, with less than 10 units available in Vietnam. Among these, a unique specimen stands out with its Onyx Black paint job—a rare sight as it’s the only one of its kind in the country. This very unit was imported by Phan Cong Khanh and initially owned by a prominent orchid collector. However, the original owner soon sold it to make room for other exotic cars such as the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and the McLaren 765LT.

After changing hands a few times, the Onyx Black McLaren 720S Spider went missing for almost two years, shrouding its whereabouts in mystery. But it has recently resurfaced at a pre-owned car showroom in Ho Chi Minh City, where it is now up for sale for nearly 19 billion VND.

This particular McLaren 720S Spider has a 2020 model year and was registered in the same year. It has clocked 34,863 kilometers on its odometer, according to the seller. The car is finished in a stunning Onyx Black exterior and features a high-performance carbon fiber body kit.

Step inside, and you’ll find a black leather interior with orange stitching and seat belts, adding a touch of contrast and sportiness to the cabin. As a convertible, one of the most notable features of the 720S Spider is its retractable hardtop roof, which can be raised or lowered in just 11 seconds while the car is in motion, provided the speed doesn’t exceed 50 km/h.

Under the hood, the McLaren 720S Spider is a beast. It’s powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces a staggering 710 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, this supercar can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 341 km/h with the roof up. However, with the roof down, the top speed is slightly reduced to 325 km/h due to aerodynamic changes.

When it was first introduced, the McLaren 720S Spider was the most powerful V8-powered supercar on the market, and it still holds its own today. Its combination of breathtaking performance, stunning looks, and the thrill of open-top driving make it a highly desirable choice for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
