He was the first to import limited-edition Lamborghini models to the country, such as the Murcielago LP670-4 and the Aventador LP750-4 SV. Minh “Nhua” is also a pioneer in bringing hypercars to Vietnam, with his first big acquisition being the Bugatti Veyron.
Following the Bugatti Veyron, Minh “Nhua” imported the Pagani Huayra, known as the “God of Wind,” making it one of the most expensive supercars in Vietnam. However, these two hypercars were not purchased through official channels, and their prices remain a mystery. Minh “Nhua”‘s third hypercar purchase, the McLaren Elva, stands out as an exception since it was acquired through an authorized dealer.
Minh “Nhua” had previously shared that the McLaren Elva cost him VND 143 billion, almost double or triple the price of the Bugatti Veyron and Pagani Huayra. However, upon its arrival in Vietnam, he revealed that the actual amount he spent on the car was nearly VND 200 billion, an astonishing record. Recently, Minh “Nhua” announced his intention to purchase the million-dollar supercar Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, exciting car enthusiasts across the nation.
This upcoming purchase is likely to break the record set by the McLaren Elva as the most expensive supercar in Vietnam. The decision to acquire the million-dollar Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 further cements Minh “Nhua”‘s status as a devoted Lamborghini enthusiast and a prominent figure in the Vietnamese automotive world.
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is an extremely limited edition model, with only 112 units produced worldwide. The company confirmed that all units were sold two years ago, but a special opportunity has arisen for a Vietnamese car enthusiast to acquire one. The price for this exceptional vehicle will undoubtedly exceed $2.62 million, which equates to VND 61 billion. This price excludes taxes, transportation costs, and any additional options for the car.
Based on the announced selling price of $2.62 million by the Italian supercar manufacturer, Minh “Nhua”‘s Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 will incur significant additional taxes and fees upon its arrival in Vietnam. Firstly, the import tax for automobiles ranges from 56% to 74%, resulting in an additional cost of $1.4 million to $1.9 million.
Additionally, the special consumption tax for imported cars with a capacity of 6.5 liters, such as the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, can range from 40% to 150%. This translates to an additional cost of $3.93 million. On top of that, there is a value-added tax of 10%. This is calculated by taking the selling price, adding the import tax and special consumption tax, and then multiplying by 10%. With the highest rate, this amounts to an additional $800,000.
Other expenses, such as transportation costs to bring the car to Vietnam, agency commissions, and registration fees, will further increase the overall cost. Typically, supercars are flown to Hong Kong and then shipped to Vietnam by sea. According to a car enthusiast, for high-capacity Lamborghini models, the price in Vietnam is usually calculated by multiplying the manufacturer’s price by 3.8 to 4.2. Following this estimation, the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4’s price for Minh “Nhua” is expected to be close to VND 250 billion.
