Vietnamese businessman and car enthusiast, Pham Tran Nhat Minh, son of plastic industry tycoon Pham Van Muoi, has been making headlines in the country’s media circles. Affectionately known as Minh “Nhua,” this avid car collector recently sent the online community into a frenzy by adding a limited-edition Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 to his garage, which already boasts the likes of a Pagani Huayra and a McLaren Elva—all incredibly expensive supercars.
Despite his penchant for splurging on supercars, luxury vehicles, and pricey SUVs in Vietnam, Minh opted for a more modest choice of transportation during his travels in the United States. The vehicle of choice for this trip was a large SUV—the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450.
Minh “Nhua,” one of Vietnam’s top supercar enthusiasts, chose this vehicle for his travels in the US
During his vacation in the US, Minh “Nhua” was spotted driving a Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 SUV, which retails for around $80,000 in the US and approximately $200,000 in Vietnam. This choice showcases Minh’s dedication to building an extravagant car collection back home. The GLS 450 that Minh drove during his stay in the US featured a sleek white exterior and a cream-colored interior.
The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 is equipped with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, featuring two 12.3-inch screens seamlessly connected, a three-spoke steering wheel with partial wood trim, and a thoughtfully designed dashboard. According to Mercedes-Benz, the new GLS model offers electric adjustment for all three rows of seats. When not in use, the second and third rows can be folded down to increase the luggage capacity to a spacious 2,400 liters.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC boasts a powerful I6 engine with a displacement of 3.0 liters, capable of generating an impressive 367 horsepower at 5,500–6,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 500 Nm at 1,600–4,500 rpm.
Additionally, the mild-hybrid EQ Boost system, featuring a 48V electric motor, provides an instant boost of 22 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, ensuring swift acceleration across all speed ranges and eliminating any lag when the accelerator is pressed.
With this impressive setup, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 246 km/h.
