SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales, the manufacturer and distributor of MG vehicles in Thailand, have announced a lifetime warranty policy for four models as part of their 100-year brand anniversary celebration.

The four MG models covered by the lifetime warranty are the new MG4 Electric, MG Maxus 9, MG Maxus 7, and the upcoming MG Cyberster. The highlight of this warranty is the unlimited mileage offer, and first-time MG car owners will enjoy lifetime warranty for their vehicles.

This announcement of the extended lifetime warranty is considered a significant move by MG to create a turning point in Thailand’s electric vehicle industry. The four electric vehicles are equipped with the latest battery technology developed by SAIC Motor Corp.

The “Rubik’s Cube” battery, a Cell-To-Pack battery, aligns the battery cells horizontally to save space and enhance ventilation for better electric driving performance and experience. This battery innovation recently won the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award in China. MG has extended the lifetime warranty to cover the high-voltage battery assembly, electric drive unit (EDU), and power electronic module (PEM).

Pongsak Lertruedeewattanavong, Vice President of MG Sales (Thailand), stated, “MG is a pioneer brand and a driving force in popularizing Thailand’s electric vehicle market. By continuously pushing the boundaries of electric mobility, the brand has introduced a diverse range of products that fully meet the needs and demands of users.”

Recently, the company announced impressive electric vehicle sales performance in Thailand, with the New MG4 Electric achieving over 84% growth compared to the same period last year, and the New MG Cyberster receiving over 1,000 orders.

“The announcement of the extended lifetime warranty for the high-voltage battery, electric drive unit, and power electronic module is a significant move by the company to commemorate its 100-year global brand anniversary as it enters its second decade of business in Thailand,” said Pongsak Lertruedeewattanavong. “It reflects our ‘courage to take the first step’ in setting a new standard and enhancing customer confidence while propelling the Thai automotive industry to new heights.”
