The 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid: A Premium MPV with a Powerful Hybrid Engine

Kia has unveiled the updated Kia Carnival for the Indonesian market, introducing two variants: the Premiere and the Dynamic. Both versions are powered by a 2.2L diesel engine, producing 193 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque.

At the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, Kia took the opportunity to showcase the hybrid engine variant of this MPV. The 2025 Carnival Hybrid is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6L gasoline engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This efficient powertrain is also found in the Sorento Hybrid.

Beyond its fuel-efficient engine, the Kia Carnival 2025 stands out with its bold and youthful design. The front grille has been enlarged for a more assertive look, complemented by sleek LED headlights and seamless LED taillights.

The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned for a sportier appearance, and the vehicle sits on stylish 17- to 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, depending on the variant.

Inside, the Carnival 2025 impresses with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and an equally large digital instrument cluster, creating a seamless dual-screen setup. It also features a head-up display (HUD) for easy access to key driving information. The gear selector has been redesigned with a rotary dial, and other notable features include a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system, tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start with smart key, remote engine start, a 360-degree camera system, and wireless phone charging.

The Premiere variant offers seating configurations for either 7 or 11 passengers, while the Hybrid model is exclusively available with 7 seats.

The Kia Carnival Hybrid is priced at 1.388 billion Indonesian rupiah, which roughly translates to 2.2 billion Vietnamese dong. This price point is significantly higher than the diesel-powered Carnival, which starts at 960 million rupiah (approximately 1.5 billion Vietnamese dong) for the Dynamic trim and 998 million rupiah (around 1.57 billion Vietnamese dong) for the Premiere trim.
