Consumer Reports is a US-based, non-profit consumer organization. They specialize in testing and evaluating products to provide buyers with valuable information before they make a purchase.

In the past year, Consumer Reports has assessed and tested around 50 all-electric car models, from which they have compiled a list of the top-rated vehicles.

The BMW iX, a luxury electric vehicle, took the top spot with an impressive score of 84/100. It surpassed competitors such as the Genesis GV60 (75 points), Lexus RZ (74 points), and Audi Q4 e-tron (71 points). However, as a luxury model, the BMW iX comes with a hefty price tag that may be out of reach for many.

In the affordable electric car segment, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 impressed with its smooth and responsive driving experience, effective sound insulation, and quick acceleration. It earned a score of 83/100. The only drawbacks noted were a slightly cramped headroom and inconveniently placed window control buttons.

Following the Ioniq 6 in the affordable category is the Kia Niro Electric, scoring 71/100.

For two-row SUVs, the Kia EV6 took the lead with 77/100 points, closely followed by the Tesla Model Y (72 points).

Lastly, in the three-row SUV category, the Kia EV9 dominated with an almost perfect score of 98/100.
