Kia Unveils the All-New Tasman Pickup Truck: A Sneak Peek at the 2025 Release

Kia recently showcased its upcoming pickup truck, the Tasman, at the 2024 Busan Auto Show. The displayed model was a prototype, artfully covered in a unique wrap designed by artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop.

However, Kia cleverly revealed some exterior details, including its square wheel arches, vertical headlights, tow hooks, disc brakes on all wheels, and 17-inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires.

The displayed prototype is close to the production version, although it lacked a suspension system and brakes. Nonetheless, the design is almost complete, as evident from features like the camera for the blind-spot monitoring system and the integrated step-up bumper.

While Kia covered the interior with tinted glass, previous leaks on TikTok had already revealed glimpses of the cabin.

Based on the leaked images, the Kia Tasman’s interior features a modern, angular design. It boasts a dual-screen setup and a minimalist center console, similar to its sibling, the Kia EV9.

Kia has not yet disclosed details about the Tasman’s engine. However, speculations suggest it will be powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, with 4×2 and 4×4 configurations and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Tasman is expected to offer a payload capacity of around one ton and a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons. A fully electric version is also planned for release by the end of 2026.
