Suzuki Unveils the All-New Jimny 2024 with a 5-Door Variant: Enhanced Space and Functionality

The highly anticipated 5-door variant of the Suzuki Jimny 2024 has finally made its debut in the Southeast Asian market, specifically in Malaysia. Derived from the 3-door model, the new Jimny 5-door boasts extended dimensions and enhanced features.

Suzuki has lengthened the Jimny by 342 mm, resulting in a longer wheelbase of 2,590 mm compared to the 3-door model’s 2,250 mm. This extension provides more legroom for rear passengers and significantly increases the luggage capacity from 85 liters to 211 liters. With the rear seats folded down, the cargo space further expands to an impressive 332 liters.

The increased length does come at a slight compromise to its off-road capabilities. The 5-door model exhibits slightly reduced approach, departure, and breakover angles compared to its 3-door counterpart. However, the ground clearance remains unchanged at an impressive 210 mm.

Aesthetically, the addition of the two rear doors contributes to a more balanced and robust appearance. The 2024 Jimny 5-door features subtle exterior updates, including chrome accents on the grille’s air vents. It retains the LED projector headlights with automatic on/off functionality and headlight washers. The vehicle is fitted with stylish 15-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in Bridgestone Dueler tires.

Inside, the Suzuki Jimny 2024 5-door maintains its minimalistic design, with a prominent 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin features a simple yet functional layout with textured plastic surfaces.

The 5-door variant also offers an array of convenient features, including automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, cloth upholstery, and a rearview camera. The seating configuration remains in the 2+2 arrangement, with the rear seats capable of folding in a 50:50 split.

Under the hood, the Suzuki Jimny 2024 5-door is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, delivering 100 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel-drive system, offering three modes: 2H, 4H, and 4L.

In terms of driver-assistance technology, the vehicle includes LED headlights with automatic function, ABS, ESP, Hill Hold Control (HHC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), ISOFIX child seat anchors, and rear parking sensors.

In Malaysia, the Suzuki Jimny 2024 5-door is priced at 199,950 RM (~1.12 billion VND), a significant increase compared to the 3-door model’s price of 175,000 RM (~980 million VND).
