The limited-edition Porsche 911 Dakar is a rare find, with only 2,500 units produced globally, yet an impressive four have made their way to Vietnam. The first owner of one of these exclusive vehicles took delivery less than a year ago and has already clocked an astonishing 55,000 km on the odometer, all within the span of two trips to China spanning four months each.
Recently, the owner of this very first Porsche 911 Dakar in Vietnam, Mr. N.H.A., was surprised to discover a sibling—a VinFast VF e34 bearing the license plate 51K-199.11, strikingly similar to his own plate, 51L-199.11.
The two vehicles share the same number combination, differing only by a single letter—a unique and intriguing coincidence. Mr. N.H.A. shared his delight in this unexpected connection and mentioned that the license plate 51K-199.11 has become a part of his identity, making it irreplaceable.
He further explained his decision to acquire the unique license plate 51L-19911 through an auction. The plate cost him VND 40 million and holds a special meaning, with the number combination of 19.911 reflecting his birthday (19) and the last four digits of the production sequence of his Porsche 911 Dakar (1904/2500). Additionally, the number 911 pays homage to the iconic German sports car model.
Powering the Porsche 911 Dakar is a 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers an impressive 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.
This engine is paired with an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and rear-axle steering, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 240 km/h.
