The Porsche 911 Dakar, a stunning sports car, was recently spotted in Can Tho, Vietnam, with the license plate 51K-882.28. This particular model is the fourth official Porsche 911 Dakar to arrive in the country.
This Porsche 911 Dakar features a light green exterior with numerous decals of the number 88, possibly indicating its production number out of the 2,500 units manufactured globally.
The license plate, 51K-882.28, is quite notable as it was auctioned off for VND 110 million back in October 2023. It is unclear whether the current owner of the Porsche 911 Dakar was the winning bidder or if they purchased the plate separately.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is currently available in Vietnam through official channels, with a price tag of nearly VND 15.3 billion, excluding additional options.
This special edition Porsche 911 Dakar celebrates Porsche’s first overall victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally. It is based on the standard 911 Carrera but has been upgraded for off-road capabilities.
Porsche has tweaked the suspension, raising the ground clearance by 80 mm compared to regular 911 models, resulting in an impressive 200 mm of ground clearance.
As a super sports car with off-road capabilities, the Porsche 911 Dakar is equipped with an Off-road High Level mode that further increases ground clearance by 30 mm. This feature, along with optimized approach and departure angles, allows the car to navigate speed bumps and potholes with ease, similar to a standard SUV. The mode automatically deactivates when the vehicle exceeds 170 km/h.
Under the hood, the Porsche 911 Dakar boasts a 3.0L flat-six engine producing 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission and an AWD system. This setup enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
Standard equipment includes four-wheel steering and a versatile engine mount, reducing the vehicle’s weight by 7.3 kg. Other weight-saving measures include a fixed rear wing and thinner glass.
