Toyota Unveils the Special 1974 Edition of the Sequoia: A Luxurious and Capstone-Inspired SUV

Toyota recently introduced the 1974 Edition to the Sequoia family, a special version built upon the large and luxurious body-on-frame platform. Positioned just below the top-of-the-line Capstone trim, the 1974 Edition offers a unique blend of style and functionality.

At first glance, the Toyota Sequoia 1974 Edition may seem similar to its siblings, but it stands out with its distinctive 20-inch wheels and 1974 Edition badging on the body. These subtle yet effective design touches make it easily recognizable.

The front end of the Sequoia takes after its Tundra sibling, featuring a large grille and T-shaped headlights. The A, B, and C pillars are painted black for a sleek look. At the rear, you’ll find horizontal taillights and prominent “Sequoia” lettering.

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a spacious cabin that boasts a 14-inch central infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch head-up display. The Toyota Sequoia 1974 Edition also comes standard with power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats, as well as a memory function for the driver’s seat.

With three rows of seating, the Sequoia offers exceptional flexibility. The second-row seats are available with a business-class option, and the third row can be adjusted fore and aft within a 152mm range to optimize legroom or cargo space.

One of the standout features of the 1974 Edition is the inclusion of a trailer assist technology package, which includes a Wi-Fi-enabled trailer camera. This wireless camera can be mounted on the trailer and linked to the vehicle, providing a direct feed to the digital rearview mirror or the infotainment system.

Additionally, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1974 Edition introduces the exclusive Mudbath paint color, reserved for the TRD Pro model. Another new feature is the inclusion of massage seats as standard equipment on the 1974, Platinum, and Capstone trims.

Under the hood, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia is powered by the i-Force Max powertrain, combining a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine, a 1.87 kWh battery, and an electric motor located between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers an impressive 437 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque.

Pricing for the Sequoia starts at $62,175 (approximately 1.56 billion VND) and goes up to $79,320 (around 1.99 billion VND) for the top-tier trims. The new 1974 Edition, however, comes in at $80,135, which is over 2 billion VND.
