Honda Vietnam has issued a recall for 718 Honda CR-V e:HEV RS vehicles in the Vietnamese market. Notably, this recall is not due to any technical issues with the vehicles but is instead prompted by inaccurate information printed in the quick start guide.

Specifically, the recall notice from Honda Vietnam states that the periodic maintenance schedule for engine oil changes in the quick start guide of the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS incorrectly states, “After every 5,000 km or 6 years.” The correct information for this section should read, “After every 5,000 km or 6 months.”

Although no cases of improper maintenance have been reported, Honda Vietnam still recommends that customers promptly contact their dealerships to receive a new quick start guide, ensuring they have accurate information about the periodic maintenance schedule for their Honda CR-V e:HEV RS.

Honda Vietnam has apologized to its customers and confirmed that the company will bear the cost of replacing the quick start guides.

According to Honda Vietnam’s announcement, a total of 718 Honda CR-V e:HEV RS vehicles are affected by this recall. All of these vehicles are completely built-up units imported from Thailand and were produced between August 24, 2023, and March 12, 2024.

In the Vietnamese market, the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS is one of the models equipped with a gasoline-electric hybrid engine. It was first introduced in October 2023, alongside the new generation of the Honda CR-V. The Honda CR-V hybrid is also the only version of this C-segment SUV that the Japanese automaker imports as a completely built-up unit from Thailand.

The Honda CR-V e:HEV RS is currently priced at VND 1,259 billion. In the first five months of this year, the hybrid version of this C-segment SUV achieved cumulative sales of 415 units, equivalent to an average monthly sales volume of 83 vehicles.
