On the morning of August 22, 2024, images of the first supercars participating in the upcoming Gumball 3000 rally, set to take place in the country next month, arrived in Vietnam and immediately captured the attention of car enthusiasts, the online community, and international media.

Among the photos were a Mercedes-Benz E-Class Brabus 800 tuned car, a Porsche 911 GT2 RS supercar, and a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow pickup truck. Now, three more cars have arrived at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

They are the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, the Rolls-Royce Dawn, and the limited-edition Ferrari 812 Competizione, one of only 999 units produced globally. These newly revealed cars were transported to Vietnam by air freight.

Thus far, there have been no sightings or reports of hypercars or megacars such as the Pagani Huayra BC, Bugatti Chiron, Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, Koenigsegg Regera, Porsche Carrera GT, or other impressive vehicles expected to participate in Gumball 3000 arriving in Vietnam.

Of the three newly arrived cars in Vietnam, the Ferrari 812 Competizione, limited to just 999 units worldwide, has garnered significant interest. This is because, until now, Vietnamese tycoons have not owned any limited-edition Ferrari models. It’s thrilling to have one in Vietnam, even if it’s just for the Gumball 3000 rally before it moves on to another country.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione, now spotted in Vietnam, boasts a matte blue exterior with yellow stripes running from the hood, across the roof, and onto the rear spoiler. Compared to the standard model, the most noticeable difference is the seamless hood design, elevated rear spoiler, and several other unique features.

The limited-edition Ferrari 812 Competizione has a staggering price tag of $601,570, which is approximately 14 billion VND. This is comparable to the price of the hybrid Ferrari SF90. However, if a Vietnamese tycoon were to purchase this car, the selling price would be significantly higher due to import taxes and other fees, likely surpassing the 50-billion-VND mark, similar to the SF90’s price.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces a massive 818 horsepower and 692 Nm of torque. This power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the supercar to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km/h.
