MG has been busy in the Vietnamese market, and their latest offering, the MG7, is set to make its debut soon. The first units of this D-segment sedan were spotted at dealerships not long ago, and now, the official launch date has been announced: August 28, 2024.
While official details about the MG7 for the Vietnamese market are yet to be revealed, dealership sources suggest that the sedan will be offered in three variants, all of which will be well-equipped and feature a sporty and stylish design.
Under the hood, the MG7 is expected to offer two gasoline engine options, mirroring the options available in the Chinese market. The first is a 1.5L engine that produces 180 horsepower and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The second is a more powerful 2.0L turbocharged engine that generates 262 horsepower and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Regardless of the engine option, the MG7 will feature four driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, and X-Mode. The 2.0L engine variant will also include an electronic limited-slip differential and electronically controlled suspension for an enhanced driving experience.
