MG is set to unveil an updated version of its ZS model in Australia on August 26, 2024, with the Chinese automotive brand releasing a series of teaser images ahead of the launch.
The ZS is currently MG’s best-selling model in Australia, so it’s no surprise that the brand is focusing on enhancing this vehicle.
The teaser images released by MG reveal a significant redesign for the 2025 ZS, which also shares some design elements with its siblings, the MG HS and the new MG3. This is particularly evident in the new grille design, which features a trapezoidal pattern.

The SUV also features new LED headlights with a simple integrated LED daytime running light signature. Similarly, the taillights, front, and rear bumpers have been refreshed.

While MG has not yet released images of the ZS’s interior, spy shots from Australian roads suggest a refreshed cabin. The SUV features a flat-bottom steering wheel, a T-shaped gear selector, and separated air vents positioned above the central touchscreen.

Another highlight of the 2025 MG ZS is its engine options. According to leaks in Australia, the SUV will offer three choices: a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine, a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, and a hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine.
Both gasoline engine options are paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The MG ZS Hybrid 2025, on the other hand, combines a 75 kW (approximately 101 hp) gasoline engine with a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor, resulting in a total output of 155 kW (210 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. It also features an 18.3 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery, a three-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive.
The MG ZS Hybrid 2025 will offer three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Additionally, it is equipped with a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) with three levels: low, medium, and high, similar to the new MG3.
