The Gumball 3000 2024 rally, taking place on the upcoming 14th of September 2024, will feature dozens of supercars, including five Ferrari 812s in various colors: military green matte, matte green, green, yellow, black, and black with blue stripes.
Among the Ferrari 812s participating in the Gumball 3000 rally, the globally limited-edition Competizione, with only 999 units worldwide, will undoubtedly stand out. Interestingly, one of the first batches of cars shipped to Vietnam included the Ferrari 812 Competizione.
This Ferrari 812 Competizione boasts a matte blue exterior with a yellow stripe running from the hood to the roof and onto the rear spoiler. Compared to the standard model, the most noticeable difference on the Competizione is the seamless hood design, higher rear spoiler, and a few other details.
The limited-edition Ferrari 812 Competizione has a price tag of $601,570, which is approximately 14 billion VND, comparable to the hybrid Ferrari SF90. However, if any Vietnamese tycoon is lucky enough to purchase one, the selling price will be much higher due to the large displacement engine, resulting in a cost of over 50 billion VND, significantly more than the SF90’s on-the-road price.
Specifically, the Ferrari 812 Competizione is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces a maximum output of 818 horsepower and 692 Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the Ferrari 812 Competizione to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds, reaching a top speed of 340 km/h.
Additionally, the Ferrari 812 fleet at the Gumball 3000 rally will include the Superfast and GTS versions. Two Ferrari 812 Superfast cars have already arrived in Vietnam, and it is rumored that a GTS version will be delivered to Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu this year.
The Ferrari 812 GTS is currently the most powerful V12 convertible that Ferrari offers. With a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, it produces a maximum output of 789 horsepower and 718 Nm of torque.
This convertible supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 8.3 seconds, with a top speed of 340 km/h. These performance figures are equivalent to the Ferrari 812 Superfast coupe.
The most fundamental difference between the Ferrari 812 GTS and the Superfast version is the GTS’s retractable hardtop, which can be easily raised or lowered according to the owner’s preference. This electric retractable hardtop can be operated in just 14 seconds.
Moreover, the roof can be raised or lowered while the car is in motion, as long as the Ferrari 812 GTS is traveling at a speed below 45 km/h.
