Recently, paparazzi cameras accidentally spotted the second Rolls-Royce Boat Tail in the Swiss resort town of Gstaad. This is a rare appearance of this ultra-luxury convertible since its launch in 2022.
Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is known as the coachbuild masterpiece of the British luxury car manufacturer, with only three units worldwide. But so far, only two have been officially announced, in 2021 and 2022.
The first one boasts a blue-black color scheme, while the second one, featured here, sports a unique beige-brown exterior.
This Rolls-Royce Boat Tail takes inspiration from J Class yachts. In terms of exterior design, this car features a distinctive front end with elements such as the Pantheon grille and echoes from the Phantom Drophead prototype. Boat Tail breaks away from traditional RR design principles with horizontally oriented lights instead of the usual vertical layout.
The highlight of the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail lies in its rear-end design, evoking a sense of classic cars from the 20th century. With the Boat Tail, viewers can appreciate a blend of freedom and sophistication.
On this Boat Tail masterpiece, Rolls-Royce revamped a total of 1,813 bespoke details, making it a distinctive model within the brand’s portfolio.
Notably, for the first time in the modern history of the brand, wooden panels are incorporated into the exterior of a Rolls-Royce, specifically on the aft deck.
Beneath the trunk lies a unique storage compartment with butterfly-style opening, housing a refrigerator and compartments for accessories like glasses, knives, cutlery, and porcelain plates from Christofle, France. All these utensils are crafted from silver, engraved with “Boat Tail.”
Additionally, the Boat Tail boasts an array of high-end features, including a Bespoke 15-speaker audio system that utilizes the entire floor as a resonance chamber for its subwoofers, carbon fiber cocktail seats, a large canopy, and a collection of luxurious accessories, such as a pair of watches from Swiss brand Bovet Fleurier and handcrafted Montblanc pens.
In terms of powertrain, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine, generating an impressive 571 horsepower.
This second Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is registered with Swiss license plates. In contrast, the first Boat Tail is based in Dubai, UAE.
According to official sources, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail starts at a staggering $28 million, surpassing even the Bugatti La Voiture Noire in terms of price.
