Vietnam’s Electric Vehicle Market Expansion: Nuen Moto Enters the Scene with Their Upcoming N1-S Model

Vietnam’s electric vehicle market is about to get a lot more exciting with the entrance of Nuen Moto and their highly anticipated Nuen N1-S. This new player in the industry is set to launch its first electric motorcycle in the fourth quarter of this year, offering a unique and powerful option for eco-conscious commuters.

According to Nuen Moto, the N1-S is Vietnam’s first “high-performance electric motorcycle.” It will be available in two versions: the Founder’s Edition and the Signature Edition. The Founder’s Edition, a limited edition with only 50 units produced, is the premium option.

While the company has started taking deposits for the N1-S, the price has not yet been disclosed.

Ahead of its launch, Nuen Moto released a video revealing the bike’s design and specifications. The N1-S features a sleek urban scrambler design, exceptional performance, and sharp aesthetics. With its compact dimensions of 2,070 mm in length, a wheelbase of 1,450 mm, a ground clearance of 175 mm, and a weight of 165 kg, this bike promises agility and maneuverability.

The Nuen N1-S is fitted with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tires, both on 17-inch wheels, matching the tire sizes of the Honda CB650R and Yamaha XSR700. Additionally, it features upside-down front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. The Founder’s Edition takes it a notch higher with Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride.

Under the skin, the Nuen N1-S packs a punch with a powerful electric motor delivering 32 horsepower and a staggering 190 Nm of torque. The motor is coupled with an 8 kWh battery pack, which the company claims is one of the safest in its class, protected by five layers of safety measures, including thermal, mechanical, electrical, and electronic safeguards, along with a sensor system.

In terms of range, the pre-production prototype boasts an impressive 200 km per charge at an average speed of 50 km/h, and it can reach a top speed of 130 km/h.

Charging the N1-S is convenient and efficient. It supports fast charging, taking only 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 80% (or 60 minutes for a full charge) using a DC 3-phase power source from the company’s charging stations. Alternatively, it can be charged using a standard 220V domestic power supply, taking 3 hours to reach 80% (or 4.5 hours for a full charge) from empty.

The Nuen N1-S also incorporates advanced safety features such as dual-channel ABS and regenerative braking. It also includes a reverse function, cruise control, and IP67 water resistance, allowing it to withstand up to 30 minutes of immersion in up to 50 cm of water.
