With a new generation comes significant advancements for the Nissan Patrol, boasting a redesigned look, an array of new technologies, and a departure from its old V8 engine.
Nissan has officially unveiled the next generation of its flagship SUV, the Patrol, at an exclusive event in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This new model is set to rival the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
“The all-new Patrol is a prime example of the exciting and powerful vehicles we are bringing as part of our global business strategy. As the seventh generation of this model, it is a bold step forward in redefining what an SUV can be. With a history spanning over 70 years, the Patrol fully embodies our company’s purpose of ‘Enriching people’s lives’,” said Nissan’s chief executive officer, Makoto Uchida.
The Nissan Patrol 2025‘s exterior exudes a more premium look with its sharp and sleek design. The all-new Patrol sports eye-catching C-shaped LED headlights with an adaptive lighting system. The grille and front bumper have also been refined for a more modern aesthetic.
This new generation of the Nissan Patrol is fitted with 22-inch alloy wheels, not only enhancing its robust and imposing appearance but also providing greater ground clearance. At the rear, Nissan has installed a distinct LED light bar on the tailgate, connecting to stylish LED taillights—adding a dynamic and sporty touch to this SUV. The manufacturer offers the Patrol 2025 in seven exterior colors, with four two-tone options available.
Step inside the cabin, and you’ll be greeted by a spacious and comfortable interior packed with technology. The seating on the Nissan Patrol 2025 is adorned with quilted leather and Japanese kumiko-inspired patterns, featuring 8-way power adjustment and massage functions.
It boasts a large 28.6-inch display on the dashboard, merging infotainment and digital instrument cluster screens. These displays utilize the new Nissan Connect 2.0 operating system and integrate Google services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Play Store, a first for the Middle East region. Rear passengers are also treated to a pair of 12.8-inch displays, offering entertainment options like Miracast, HDMI, and USB inputs.
The standard audio system is a 12-speaker Klipsch Premium setup, delivering crisp and clear sound integrated seamlessly into the Patrol’s interior. This system also features DynamicAudioReveal technology, ensuring consistent clarity and depth by automatically adjusting audio balance based on environmental conditions. Alternatively, the 3D DJX surround sound system offers a rich and immersive concert-like experience for occupants. A panoramic glass sunroof and a 64-color interior ambient lighting system come as standard.
The Nissan Patrol 2025‘s “heart” is a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine, replacing the old 5.6L naturally aspirated V8. This 6-cylinder powerhouse delivers an impressive 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque—a 7% increase in power and a 25% jump in torque. This engine benefits from high-heat-resistant turbochargers and a recirculating oil pump, ensuring consistent lubrication on inclines and slopes.
The power is transmitted to all four wheels through a new 9-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can also choose from six drive modes: Standard, Sand, Rock, Mud/Rut, Eco, and Sport.
For those who prefer a more refined engine, the Nissan Patrol 2025 is also available with a naturally aspirated 3.8L V6 engine, producing 316 horsepower and 386 Nm of torque. Like the twin-turbo V6, this engine is paired with the same 9-speed automatic transmission and new all-wheel-drive system.
Last but not least, Nissan’s Intelligent Safety technologies come standard on the Patrol 2025, along with several other upgrades. It features NissanConnect 2.0 with Google integration, ProPilot technology offering adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, a 3D around-view monitor for enhanced situational awareness, smart rearview mirrors, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
For off-road enthusiasts, the Nissan Patrol 2025 is an appealing choice due to its Panorama View mode. This mode provides an ultra-wide viewing angle and what Nissan calls an “Invisible Hood” feature, projecting a real-time view of the terrain beneath the vehicle. This is incredibly useful when navigating rocky and uneven terrain.
