**Transitioning to a Greener Future**

These vehicles will be utilized by the cooperative’s members to offer transportation services, replacing their current gasoline-powered fleet. The cooperative’s long-term goal is to embrace a comprehensive green transformation, aiming for a 100% switch to electric vehicles for its members, along with investments in charging stations and infrastructure to meet the technical requirements for electric vehicle maintenance and repair.
With approximately 55,000 members, the Southern Economic Cooperative Alliance is currently the largest taxi driver union in Vietnam, representing around 70% of the market. Recognizing the growing trend of electric vehicles and their benefits to the economy, health, and environment, the cooperative has decided to encourage its members to go green by leasing and purchasing VinFast electric vehicles from GSM for their business operations. Many of the cooperative’s members already use VinFast vehicles to provide services on various ride-hailing platforms, especially the Xanh SM Platform.
**Empowering Drivers with Supportive Policies**
The alliance will also provide financial solutions and practical support to drivers, including assistance with business registration on the Xanh SM Platform and free vehicle management when using electric vehicles as part of the cooperative.
*Leadership of GSM and the Cooperatives Unite for the Green Transition*
Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan, Chairman of the Southern Economic Cooperative Alliance, shared his vision: “Guided by creativity and innovation, our cooperative constantly seeks new approaches to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the global green trend. With GSM’s partnership and inspiration, we will serve as a bridge to expand the network of all-electric transportation to every cooperative and member, fostering a strong green alliance that maximizes positive economic and social impact.”
Attending the signing ceremony, Mr. Le Tan Luu, Chairman of the Binh Tan District Motorcycle and Technology Union, added: “The supportive policies and collaboration between the cooperative alliance and GSM are expected to benefit our workers by providing better policies, safer and more environmentally friendly vehicles, and improved livelihoods and social welfare for our drivers.”
**A Testament to the Benefits of Electric Vehicles**
The Southern Economic Cooperative Alliance, being the largest taxi driver union in Vietnam, embracing the green transition with GSM, showcases the economic viability and positive social impact of electric vehicles. This partnership marks a significant shift in the taxi driver community’s awareness of eco-friendly practices and their commitment to enhancing the quality, professionalism, and civility of public transportation services.
In parallel with the green transition program, the Southern Economic Cooperative Alliance also offers a range of welfare and benefit policies for its drivers, including periodic health check-ups, 24/7 rescue centers, free rest stops for dining and relaxation, a charitable fund, and financial support with special interest rates for members in difficult circumstances.
GSM, since its establishment over a year ago, has partnered with more than 35 green-transitioning businesses, including taxi companies and transport enterprises, in various localities. Recently, GSM welcomed nearly 5,000 VinFast electric vehicle owners to provide services on the Xanh SM Platform, making electric mobility a familiar and eco-friendly choice for the community.
