The Yamaha Y15ZR, also known as the Exciter 150 in Vietnam, has just received a fresh new look for 2023 in Malaysia. For this upgrade, the Japanese automaker has chosen to focus on aesthetic enhancements, revamping the wind shield and rims for a sportier appeal.

Similar to the Vietnamese market, Yamaha Malaysia continues to offer both the Y15ZR and the Y16ZR (Exciter 155) in their lineup. It is likely that the Y15ZR will be phased out by the end of next year, making way for the Y16ZR to take center stage.

The 2023 Y15ZR is available in four captivating colors: yellow, silver, blue matte, and orange. The blue matte version stands out with its rims in a striking bronze hue, while the other variants sport black rims for a sleek and subtle touch.

In terms of features and specifications, the Y15ZR remains unchanged. It retains its front and rear suspension system, dual-disc brakes, and a liquid-cooled 149.7cc engine that delivers 15.1 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 13.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. A 5-speed transmission ensures a smooth and responsive ride.

Despite the lack of significant upgrades, the 2023 Y15ZR sees a modest price increase of $113.50 over its predecessor. Starting at $2,042 in Malaysia, the Y15ZR offers a competitive package. In Vietnam, the Yamaha Exciter 150 is currently priced between 44.9 and 45.8 million VND.
